Please pass this information along; it is accurate.

Last night on Channel 12 News there was a report on the high gas prices in Wilkes County. The reason given was the gas suppliers say “WE ARE WILLING TO PAY THE EXTRA COST”. The National average today is 2.36 9/10; the cheapest price I saw today is 2.52 9/10. If we go out of Wilkes and boycott for a couple of weeks these high prices will come down. If you must have gas just buy enough to get you out of Wilkes. To find a good price near you use this web-sitehttp://autos.msn.com/everyday/gasstations.aspx?zip=28601&src=LeftNav and enter the zip code for the location you plan to buy gas. The local gas suppliers can not sell gas if they do not have a market.

Channel 12 also listed a phone number to report this gouging 1-877-5NOSCAM.

Below are a few areas and the fuel prices today.

Elkin 2.35 9

Lenoir 2.35 9

Hickory 2.37 9

W-Salem 237.9

Mt Airy 2.38 9

Morganton 2.33 9
